Creamy Nut Milk

Many people are lactose intolerant. In fact, we are the only species who drinks another animal’s milk. Cow’s milk was intended for baby cows not for human consumption. Almond milk is a wonderful alternative. They are high in calcium and minerals. Almonds are called the king of nuts!

¼ cup raw almonds

1½ cup water

Place almonds and water in blender. Blend on high until you have creamy almond milk.

Note: We soak the almonds in a jar of water overnight to improve the digestibility of the almond milk. In the morning we drain the water from almonds and add fresh water to make the milk. Soaking the nuts also increases the creaminess of the milk.

Variations:

  •  Add a few raw macadamia nuts to the almonds for increased richness
  • Try a couple of dates or pure maple syrup to add sweetness
